In Celebration of International Women’s Day, on behalf of Elevate International and the All-Party Parliamentary Women’s Caucus, it with great pleasure that we invite you to the 2019 International Women’s Day on Parliament on March 8, 2019, from 8:30am to 4:30pm, on Parliament Hill, at the Sir John A. MacDonald Building. 

Keynote and Guest speakers include The Right Honourable Michaëlle JeanKathryn White, President and CEO of United Nations Association In Canada, Marjolaine Hudon, Regional President, Ontario North & East at RBC, Komal Minhas, founder of Kaur Space and producer of Dream Girl, Sophia Leong, Executive Director, Executive Development & International Relations, University of Ottawa, Rima Aristocrat, President and CEO, Willis College, Sonya Shorey, Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Invest Ottawa... Just to name a few.

International Women’s Day on Parliament promises to be an insightful day that offers the opportunity to learn from visionaries and thought leaders while developing ideas on realistic contribution we are going to tackle in order to advance gender diversity in leadership.

Socially Innovative, this initiative is designed to build inclusive leaders and advance gender diversity. This event is designed for leadership development, networking and sharing best practices in advancing women leading in government, business, and philanthropy. Unorthodox and stimulating, in addition to elevating your leadership development, this event will invite you to do a bit of work on modernizing the challenges women in leadership are facing today while identifying realistic steps that can be shared with leaders and corporation to advance gender diversity in leadership.

Together we are dedicating International Women’s Day to advancing equality for women and their increased representation in leadership and decision-making roles.

The Elevate Women Initiative will help us create a society of diversity and inclusion by design. Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to leadership growth and learning

  • Better understand the benefits of gender diversity in leadership

  • Gain insights on practical ways to apply a diversity and inclusion lens when planning and developing policies, programs, initiatives to support women in leadership

  • Hear guest speakers share their knowledge on leadership and their experiences on advancing gender diversity and equality

  • Network with over 200 individuals advancing as leaders in our society while remaining focused on diversity
