Background: The legacy and impact of organizations led by Black women in Canada

"Through nearly 4 centuries in what is now Canada, Black women have shaped their own identities while taking decisive actions to advance the survival, preservation, and growth of countless families and communities across the country. As advocates and catalysts for change, Black women have created many important organizations that have advanced equity and human rights." Canadian Heritage

Our Goal: As an organization committed to women's leadership and economic empowerment, we could not imagine a better way to contribute Black History Month than to celebrate black women leaders.

This event is designed to recognize black women leaders and the invaluable contribution their leadership brings in our society.

Ours to Tell

This year Elevate International is in solidarity with the government of Canada’s 2023 theme for Black History Month: “Ours to tell”.

This theme represents both an opportunity to engage in open dialogue on existing barriers, challenges and opportunities for black women leaders. More importantly, for us at Elevate International, a greater commitment to recognize and celebrate the accomplishment of black women’s leadership, by building a platform that truly shares their stories, successes, sacrifices and triumphs.

Join us for a powerful celebration of Black History Month

Together, we can celebrate and elevate more black women leaders and the contribution they make in our society.

Please join us – all are welcome.
